What Is a Retractable Starlight Roof?

A retractable starlight roof combines the beauty of a premium fiber-optic starlight headliner with the everyday function of an automotive sunshade. Unlike a permanently fixed starlight headliner, the illuminated panel can open and close, allowing drivers to enjoy both the panoramic glass roof and a luxury starlight interior.

When the sunshade is closed, ultra-fine fiber-optic points create a refined night-sky effect across the roof. When it is opened, the panoramic glass remains visible. This makes the system especially suitable for modern vehicles equipped with large glass roofs.

The fiber-optic points themselves do not carry electricity or generate heat. Light is delivered through the fibers from a compact light engine installed separately from the illuminated surface.

Depending on the selected configuration, drivers can adjust brightness, colors, breathing effects, meteor effects, and sound-responsive modes. The system may be controlled through a mobile app, remote control, physical button, and supported English voice commands.
